The third issue of the Informational Bulletin came out. Its main subject is the XV World Congress of the International Cardiac Doppler Society which was held in conjunction with Russian National Conference on Cardiac Resynchronization and Cardioversion Defibrillation in Tyumen, Russia on 24-26 May 2006. The first issue of bulletin of the Russian Chapter of the International Society of Cardiovascular Ultrasound (RCISCU) came out.The issue starts with the welcome address of the President of the International Society of Cardiovascular Ultrasound, Professor Navin C. Nanda (USA). The head of the RCISCU working group, Director of Tyumen Cardiology Center, Professor Vadim A. Kuznetsov tells about the objectives and plans of the Russian Chapter. Dr. Kul Aggarwal (USA) shares his impressions on the VIII World Congress of Echocardiography and Vascular Ultrasound which was held in Antalya ( Turkey ) in May 2004.
The etymology of the world “echocardiography” goes back to an ancient Greek legend. Bulletin tells us about love and suffering of Narcissus and Echo.
